Developing an Acne Diet 101

Being on an acne diet is a very fascinating idea. After all, who has not heard the saying that chocolate gives you pimples? Just about everyone has. So it doesn’t seem so crazy that by watching what you eat could prevent a break out.
Although creating a good acne diet can be very hard. Being based on your body’s responses to certain foods makes it very personal. There are guidelines, but each individual’s progress will mostly be trial and error. Make sure you are keeping an eye on your skin. Keep a journal. Taking pictures with your digital camera is a good way to keep a journal. When your skin clears, continue on the diet you were on at the time.
The following guidelines can help get you started on an acne diet:
* You need to increase your protein - Some dermatologists believe that protein is associated with clearer skin. This is because protein contains an enzyme that limits the production of oil. Oily skin tends to be more prone to breakouts.
* 2. Avoid carbohydrates - Its not necessary to cut out all carbohydrates. But you do need to limit them so that they are only about 40 percent of your diet. This is because carbohydrates have compounds in them that can stimulate oil production. For this reason common knowledge indicates that junk food causes acne. Actually it is just that junk food is high in carbs.
* Drinking green tea is very good for you - If possible, drink the real stuff. The best type of green tea is the kind you brew at home. However, if you can’t stand the stuff, then natural green tea drinks will do. Green tea will limit the creation of androgen. Breakouts can be caused by the hormone called androgen.
* Limit your total intake of salt - Iodine is usually found in salt. Which is why table salt is sometimes called “iodized salt.” Iodine can be one of the biggest inflammatory agents in people with acne.
It is very important to watch what you eat and put on your face. If you currently have acne, you are more aware than most of what is contained in your beauty products. Those who are prone to acne should look for oil free moisturizers. These are least likely to cause a breakout. If you wear makeup, then consider investing in mineral makeup. If you want to enhance your acne diet and reduce breakouts, you may want to try mineral makeup.
