Natural Acne Treatments

Some people may find that they prefer to use natural acne treatments and remedies rather than prescription drugs. Chemical medications may be too harsh on the skin and can cause other side effects. Natural cures are free from side effects. Natural treatments consist mainly of treating acne from the inside out. There are also some herbal remedies that treat acne topically.

It is important to note that in any treatment of acne your internal health plays an important part. Natural treatments clear your skin from the inside out. Vitamins, antioxidants, a good diet and regular exercise all help to keep your skin healthy.

Diet
Antioxidants fight off the negative effects of free radicals in the body. Free radicals are the byproducts created from your digestive system and can attack healthy cells. Antioxidants are found naturally in many foods and increasing your intake of these foods will help keep cells healthy.

Eating a balanced diet is the single most important thing you can do for your skin as the human body needs specific vitamins, minerals and nutrients daily to stay healthy. Try to eat foods that have not been highly processed and add plenty of fruits and vegetables to your diet. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water each day also helps the body to rid itself of any toxins. If you don't get a balanced diet you should supplement it with a good daily multi-vitamin.

Exercise
Make sure that you get ample exercise daily. This increases the function of the organs and cells and will aid in keeping toxins out of the body. Yoga is a good exercise to start with as it also helps clear your mind. Other exercises to consider include walking, aerobics or cycling although any exercise is going to be good for the body. You should try to exercise at least three times per week to enjoy the full benefits.
